  • It came in a taped together box that was open on the top and the metal grid was dented. I didn't think much of it, as it still worked, but only 2 months after use the metal grid has began rusting. Not a high quality product.

  • I owned 3 of these in the past, 1 died and I went online to find them. germguardianoutlet.com had a renewed one on sale for 25% of the price I paid originally, so figured I'd buy 2. Both units are not renewed. They are used. One of them missing the lid. Didn't even bother plugging them in. The price was too good to be true. Not happy

  • So I do love the GermGuardian it works extremely well, and as a long time allergy sufferer it has been a godsend. Honestly though the Filters are extortion which led me to find a very inexpensive alternative to their insanely priced filters. You simply purchase a 14 x 24 X 1 allergen grade home air filter (pictured), and cut it down to fit the unit. This makes about 3 to 4 filters that work just as well and possibly better if you get really high quality filters. I attached a couple pictures, one shows the type of filter and the other is a cut down filter after three months of use (it used to be pure white). The home filter cost me $20, and after cutting it up into 3 pieces each filter for the guardian really only cost me around $7. I attached a link to the Filtrete brand filter which is $32 for a 2 pack which is even cheaper than the Honeywell one I got from Home Depot. Anyway don't be fooled and don't over pay. Filtrete Healthy Living Ultra Allergen Reduction Filter, MPR 1500, 12 x 24 x 1-Inches, 2-Pack

  • Very happy, put it in my basement to take care of cat box and cat food odors. It’s probably a bit small for the amount of sq st down there but it’s very effective. Had an issue with the buttons and the company took care of me ASAP. Send me a shipping label to send it in for review and I was back in business in less than a week. Great Customer Service.

  • I put the new bulb on my Germ Guardian, plugged it in, and it did not light up. So I opened it back up and looked inside and the bulb looked frosty. I removed the bulb and noticed that it looks all white and frosty. Is it defective? I tried to get a replacement but it won’t let me get past the “troubleshooting” section. I will not be buying anymore!

  • 5 out of 5
No idea why light bulbs are being shipped in envelopes. Arrived with small crack and lots of little bits scattered on the inside. Coils look burnt too so this is probably used.

  • This is the perfect replacement Bulb and Filter. Glad I am still able to find replacements. If you have a Germ Guardian in need of a filter change, you can't go wrong with this one.

  • I don’t give 5 stars regularly and will update this when I have more time with the humidifier. For the last 25yrs I’ve been looking for THIS! There is HUGE mist (more than mist) is amazing! I can even change direction of the spray! I HAVE not woken once with dry eye and my eyelashes are thanking me daily! So that was cool mist...:I’ve used warm mist once because I was “stuffy” and woke clear. If this continues for a week I’m buying at least one more if not two!

  • (Review of Guardian Technologies Smart Air Quality Monitor) I will update this review if the manufacturer releases a fix for the Aria Android app. But currently, the app crashes every time I try to open it (after getting through the initial setup process). This makes the smart features unusable to me, which is a shame because I chose this device over other AQI monitors for its smart features. The device itself is nice. The design of the hardware is aesthetically pleasing, and the screen looks slick and easy-to-read. If there's an update to the Android app that actually solves the issue, then I'll be happy with this device. Otherwise, it's just OK and is definitely a disappointment.

  • This is definitely not the same filter that comes with the original product. This filter (left) is much thinner and it is much easier to see through than the original (right). Not sure why they’d sell such cheap replacements.

  • It really cranks out the mist! The warm mist isn't that warm though (80⁰), but that means it's safer around children & pets. Plus it is VERY quiet. The 4/8/12 hr timer is optional, so you can run it continuously. I like that the blue tank light can be turned off, but the button lights do stay on. I used my refrigerator filtered water (had to fill another container up to fill it). The only downside I see is that it isn't a top fill tank, and can be pretty heavy if you're elderly or sick (think how heavy 2 gallons of milk on one arm can be when you're exhausted). It does have a good handle on the top & the bottom to help though. But other than that, I'm thrilled with it. I'm used to having to refill the tanks of cheaper ones every 4 to 6 hours. This thing lasts DAYS, depending on if you have it on high, med, or low. Plus there's a 10% off coupon right now for it.

  • I bought these to replace the old carbon filter and I was in shock after I saw the old one! I have attached a picture so you can see the difference! I think the price is great as it extends the life of my HEPA filter, I just had to replace the carbon filter and it fits perfectly.

  • Pros: 1. The machine does a good job of cleaning the air and removing odors. 2. It has a very quiet low speed for night-time use. It’s almost silent, but I have a hearing impairment and those with better hearing may disagree. 3. The device as a separate ionizer and UV-C germ killing lamp. These can be run separately, together, or not at all. 4. There is an automatic shut-off option—user-definable at 2, 4, or 6 hours. The user can also disable the shut-off option. 5. The filters fit nicely into the chassis. This means that the air is properly forced through the filters rather than around the edges. Cons: 1. Panel LED’s cannot be turned off. This turned out to be more annoying than I realized at first. In fairness, the manufacturer clearly indicated that the user could not turn out the lights. While these blue lights do not seem bright in the daytime, they are disturbing in my bedroom at night. Blue light is reportedly disruptive to sleep patterns. I covered the panel for night-time use by using a piece of thin corrugated cardboard. I used thin stock because the switches are sensitive to pressure, and because I could shape the cardboard to fit the curve of the panel. I used duct tape for the “hinges,” and I recommend that you leave a little slack in the tape for this purpose. The photos show how I did this, and also I suggest that you leave an extra quarter-inch of cardboard at the bottom for a “lip” to open the cover. The device does have the ability to turn off the beeping sounds when pressing the switches. At this price point, I would have thought that the manufacturer could also have created an option to turn out the lights or even better, have them time out after a user-selected interval. 2. The consumables are expensive. $75.00 is highway robbery for a filter set replacement every six months or so. Also, the UV-C bulb needs to be replaced annually at $35.00.Three years of consumables cost more than the one-time price of the device, which itself is expensive. 3. The “high” fan speed setting is noisy, even with my hearing impairment. 4. For this price point, the system should include a hand-held remote control. Again in fairness, the vendor clearly indicated that the device lacked this feature.

  • I’ve owned a few air filters and am currently running one in an upstairs bedroom. I’d been thinking about getting another one and knew what I wanted and didn’t want in an air filter. I didn’t want a tall, towering one nor something like the boxy Venta, an air washer / filter. I don’t need something that will add moisture to the air, but rather a unit that will remove impurities from the air. This Guardian was exactly what I was thinking of. It has everything I wanted in an air purifier, plus some. When I unpacked it, there was very little to do save remove a bit of plastic from the wall plug. The filter was already installed, but I removed it to see how easy it will be to change it. It won’t be at all difficult, a task that will have to be done every few months. It does have a HEPA filter as well as a pre / charcoal filter, which is standard. I found that these do fill up with a lot of dust and dirt. They not only get impurities out of the air, but dust, dander and pollen. There’s a timer I can use that can be easily set from one to eight hours. I tend to leave my other air purifier running 24 /7. There are five speed settings I can select from. When I on the highest, I found the unit to be a little loud. It will have to be turned down or off in order to sleep. There’s no sleep mode with this unit. Changing the filter, which should be done every six to eight months, is dependent on the environment of one’s household. There’s also a UV bulb that will eventually need replacement approximately once a year. The cost, I’ve discovered, is not in the unit, but rather the replacement of the filters. I expected to find the same with this air purifier. Comparatively, the cost is excellent at under $110. A very good air purifier that’s worth investing in.

  • The product works well but the package says 4 and I only received 3
