   I really have to love a product to give it five stars. I really, really love this air purifier. We have a very large master suite that houses me and my husband and then my two toddlers are in the “sitting area” of the master suite. We also have two cats who never leave the master suite and no matter how often I clean the litter box in the bathroom there is always somewhat of a litter smell and I absolutely hate it. Granted, it was cut down to almost nothing when we started running the Oreck air purifier in our bedroom but I have a very sensitive nose and there was still some odor left over. This has literally eliminated the odors from the master suite. I also love the night light. We have this placed in the sitting area of the master suite, or what we refer to as the toddler area where the two toddlers sleep, and the night light/light show is adorable. There are three colors including blue, green, and white, and three different disks each with its own theme. You can have the machine rotate between the three colors or pick one for it to stay on. I prefer the blue color with the star/moon theme. It’s not too bright and its calming but gives enough light so that my daughter who is going through the “I’m afraid of the dark” phase is pacified without interrupting our sleep on the other side of the suite. The white noise also helps them sleep, which is a huge plus. You’ll need to replace the charcoal filter about every six months and the HEPA filter every 6 to 12 months (depending on your home). I was surprised at how affordable I could find the replacement filters for (less than $20, unlike the Oreck which is $49 a filter). The UV bulb also needs to be changed about once a year, maybe a little more frequently depending on how often you use it. I can definitely tell there is a difference in the air quality since putting this in. Another thing I like about it is that it has a rather small footprint so doesn’t take up too much space. The unit measures about a foot tall and about 8 inches wide and deep (a little deeper than it is wide); If you are looking for a quality air filter with an adorable nightlight feature that doesn’t take up a lot of space, I highly suggest this unit. I actually like it a lot better than the Austin Air Healthmate Jr that I purchased a couple of years ago for about four times this price.

   We love this new air purifier! We have a full-sized one for our bedroom, but we recently moved our baby into his own room at night and needed a better white noise for his room. I came across this smaller version of our air purifier and immediately purchased it for the nursery because we like our big one so much. This one is perfect! It’s small and compact in his little room. The white noise it produces is AMAZING and way better than the actual “white noise” machine we registered for and have been using in the nursery. And as an added bonus, this machine is also really nice for reducing diaper pail odors when his room is closed up at night! We haven’t used the night light feature yet because he’s too small to care about it, but the options seem nice for when he’s ready. I would highly recommend this air purifier over basic white noise machines!

   My three year old loves his unit! He loves the stars in his room, and it’s a nice night light- not too bright. On it’s highest setting, it can be loud, but on the lowest it’s a nice white noise that doesn’t bother any of us. We have several GermGuardian units in the house since the entire family has allergies from mild to severe and this has helped tremendously. I don’t know if only one unit in the bedroom would help, but with other units throughout the house, it’s been a world of difference. We’ve even noticed less dust in the house.

   I bought 2 of these, one for in each kid’s room, and they work really well. The proof is in the photos. I had new filters ready to go and after 5 months, I changed them. You can see everything that the filter caught and stopped from being airborne in the rooms. On the left is the filter after 5 months and on the right is the new filter I’m installing.

   The sound on this isn’t as loud as some reviewers make it seem. I have another air purifier that can get pretty loud but we like that because it does drain noise well. So this machine doesn’t get too loud but loud enough to drown out some noise. My daughter loves the different projections she can choose from. I wish there was a way to set how bright you want the light because it is a little bright for during the night. Or even a timer for the light to go off.
   My machine has a smell to it while running. I am not sure if this will pass because it’s new or if it is defective. It almost smells like something is getting hot could be burning soon. I’m not sure if you know what I mean.
   Anyway, the product works great other then the smell and does what I need it to do. It is compact enough to take when traveling and gets the job done.

    The GermGuardian Kids Night Night 4-in-1 Hepa Air Purifier with Projector is an effective – albeit a bit noisy – air filtration system. Our son has miserable allergies, particularly during this California Fall season. To keep his allergies at bay, my kid takes showers before he goes to bed in order to minimize any dander or pollen being transferred to his bedding, we vacuum regularly, he takes allergy medications as needed, and we’ve placed both a humidifier and an air purifier in his room. We’ve switched out his Honeywell Compact Tower for the GermGuardian to see how he’d do with the more kid friendly looking unit. The GermGuardian didn’t really help with filtering out the allergens as well as his old unit, but did work well for our daughter who has very mild allergies. The unit has a single sided air flow (only come out from the front) and very tiny UV-C light which doesn’t seem to serve much function. The UV-C light only covers the bottom 1/4 of the filter, so a majority of the air flow goes through without passing by the light. The purifier does help with scents in the room – when turned on, any scent gets filtered out effectively, and we’ve noticed that even when cooking scents waft into a room that the scents get effectively filtered out. The unit is very attractive and is slightly larger than a large shoebox. The unit is a nice Robin Egg color, and features a three LED light night light on top with plates that are interchangeable. The plates can feature either stars/moon, ocean creatures, or safari creatures on the ceiling. There are three different light colors to choose from including white, green, blue, or a rotation of all three. For some odd reason, the white LED makes the shapes look very blurry. The blue is also creates shapes that are a bit blurry, but not quite as much as the white LED color. The green is by far the sharpest LED shape – I’m not sure why this is, but it may be because of the positioning of the three different light bulbs. This unit has three filtration speeds ranging from low to high. On the lowest setting the unit is fairly quiet, and the air input is low but effective. When on the highest setting, the noise is loud enough where light sleepers may find the noise distracting. My boy doesn’t like the unit being set on high as he complains it’s too noisy. Having the fan system is also a bit annoying when using on colder nights. Overall, if you’re looking for an air purifier that can effectively reduce scents, looks cute, and functions well as a night light, this a decent unit to consider. If you’re looking for something that will help reduce allergens in the room, this unit is not as effective as other systems we’ve tried. On the upside, the filters are much cheaper than other systems out there, and if you have mild allergies, this unit may work well for you. We’re likely going to place this in our daughter’s room, and put our son’s old purifier back in his room. While this didn’t work for him, our daughter thought it was awesome, and it seems to work well for her.

    I have two young daughters with allergies, one with mild asthma, and both that tend to bury themselves under the covers at night until they’re sweating.
    I bought this for their bedroom for the purpose of improving the air quality for improved respiratory function as well as comfort, decreasing germs in general, and to also replace their white noise machine with a projector on top that we’ve had forever.
    This purifier is proving to be a great decision thus far. I could tell a noticeable difference in the room after having this on for just a few hours. It felt lighter, crisp & airy. Some have said that the projector didn’t wasn’t clear/focused but ours definitely is. My girls really enjoy the fact that we can change out the theme of what’s projected. Our previous white noise machine was good for drowning out outside sounds but poor sound quality. I love the hum of this one. It isn’t super quiet which I find to be a good thing. Oh, and it keeps the room cool with the amount and rate of moving air circulating.
    I’d absolutely buy this again, and highly recommend to parents.

    My main dislike is the noise level on this product. The lowest setting is still pretty loud compared to my other two air purifiers. The only reason I went with this specific one was because it was blue and had a nightlight that my daughter would appreciate. It was priced fairly as I seen it for double at other retailers. However given the noise I would not recommend. I am also not convinced the UV does anything.
