The UV bulb replacement displays two poor design choices. The first is that only a tiny fraction of the airflow, certainly less than one percent, is exposed to the UV light. My guess is this was done as most of the materials used in the construction of the unit would not hold up to sustained UV exposure. (As opposed to the UV sterilizer build into my home’s forced air system, which exposes 100% of the airflow to intense UV in an all metal portion of the duct.) The second aspect is that the need to remove three screws to replace the UV bulb. The system could easily be designed to not require any screws. I realize complaining about this aspect when the UV doesn’t expose hardly any of the airflow is akin to complaining about small portions at a restaurant where the food is so awful you’d not want to eat it anyway.
The process they tell you to do to reset the filter replacement timer, namely hold the UV on button down for 5 seconds, is the same process to reset the UV bulb replacement cycle. The issue is the filer is supposed to be replaced roughly every 6 months, the bulb every 10-12 months. Resetting both timers at the same time is a pretty fundamental design flaw.

Works great except the whistle sound it makes after a couple of days on

It is nicely designed and works fine for cleaning the air, but on low it has a high-pitched whistle that drives me crazy.

In our bedroom. Turn it on and forget about it. Quiet and effective.

The product itself is great however … you can NOT get a replacement hepa filter when the one in it goes bad (which occurs after about 5 months of use). Don’t waste your money!!!!
