My daughter had one of these lights so I jumped on AMZ and bought one that was already opened for a few dollars less than full price.
It arrived in perfect shape in the original carton.
This light is not large and can sit on your surface or be hung up.
It has SO MANY features in one inexpensive light. ( The first full spectrum huge lap I bought many years ago, cost me hundreds of dollars. I had to pass it on as my new place was too small for a light that large.)
This lamp is super easy to use with the self-explanatory switches.
It also has a little toggle roller switch on the cord to turn it on and off.

Originally gave this product a one star rating when it died after two months, then the company stepped up and I had a replacement in a flash. Love when companies actually care about their customers. I give this company a 10 star for excellent customer service!

First Review: Got this for my husband and he was using it daily for 10 minutes. He was enjoying using it. Just stopped working yesterday, Nov 5, purchased it Sept 19th. Really disappointed. It looked really nice and seemed to help, but stopped working after such a short time.

Nov 6: I found contact info for Guardian Technologies and I’m waiting to hear if they’ll refund or replace. ([email protected] or 1.866.603.5900 for others with faulty product).

Nov 9 update: Wow, fantastic customer service. I mailed the light back by UPS, (they paid for label cost,) and today I already received a replacement. I just used it on the five minute timer and it’s working great so far. Happy to change my rating from a one to a five!

I have tried a few different lights for S.A.D. This model has really helped. When my wife notices my moods are normal that is a good sign. I use this for 30 minutes every morning. The blue feature is not as blue as I would like however I still love the blue feature. It is way easier on my eyes then the white. I need to set the brightness to the maximum to feel the full affects. I like the ability to adjust the brightness and the size is great. I give this 5 stars because the products really help every day. A side note I found that I can set this on its side under my monitor so I can work while using it.

So far, so good. If anything changes, I will edit this review. EDIT: Just out of curiosity, I measured the output from my light from about a foot away. I hit the screenshot on my phone, and as you can see, when the light is turned to its brightest white setting, the output is 30,000 lux. Nice! (I used SensorLab from the play store to measure.)

I find the white light setting to be too bright, but the blue light setting is great. I love the timer, and it’s a good reminder, when working at the computer with it on, to take an eye break and stretch. I wish it had a battery in it though, so it could be more easily taken around. As it is, you’re confined to a space with an outlet.

I couldn’t see spending almost two hundred dollars on a little blue light from another company, and I wasn’t sure if white light or blue light would benefit me more-so finding this light was perfect! I had researched the therapeutic benefits of white lights and found that 10000 lux was essential and that blue light therapy was just as beneficial as the white. The size of this unit is about the size of a tablet with the light surface being 5.5″x8″ tall-not too big and definitely not too small! The 3 brightness levels are a plus and I love that I can choose white or blue light. My eyes prefer the blue light. The four stage timer is really convenient too. It’s really easy to use-power button, up & down brightness level button, timer button, and light choice button. I have noticed that my SAD is not as bad this year too, I’m not as moody or depressed. I would highly recommend this (and I have) to anyone who is looking to purchase a full spectrum light and at a great price to boot!!

I am sure this works as described, but I dislike that there is no steady on mode. You can set the unit to 5-30 minutes. When it turns off you have to turn it back on, but a big deal to some but it’s annoying to me.

Update January 29, 2018: Pure Gaurdian engineers looked over my unit and said that the humming noise is coming from an electrical wire and “and if adjusted the unit will not operate properly. Some people are more sensitive to this noise than others.” Buyers, you are now aware of this issue.

Here is my original review:
I purchased this after my other lamp burned out after only two winters. I love the compact footprint, and the use of LED lights. That being said—I very well may return this because of the high-pitched incessant humming when I have the unit on the white light setting. Customer service with Guardian Technologies is very fast and responsive, and they sent me a replacement light within a few days. Unfortunately the replacement light has the same issue—but it is a bit quieter. I would love to love this light, but the buzzing sound is starting to really get on my nerves. It is like cozying up to a mosquito every morning!
